Truth & Salvage Co. “Appalachian Hilltop” Music Video

Truth & Salvage Co. “Appalachian Hilltop” Music Video - Kevin Lapsley

Got to experience the Appalachian hilltop that inspired the Truth & Salvage Co. song “Appalachian Hilltop” on this music video shoot. Director, Steve Condon, and I got to spend the weekend with the band, and family, in the home town and at the family farm of band member Bill Smith that set the scene for the shoot.

The video almost didn’t come together because of a lot of rain but we set up one shot and things just kind of fell into place after that. Had a great time with some great people on this shoot. Very glad things worked out because this band and song are great. Looking forward to hearing more from Truth & Salvage Co.

Phil Vassar’s “Love Is Alive” Music Video

Phil Vassar - Love is Alive - Kevin Lapsley

Was happy to assist the 10:10 Creative, and director Steve Condon, on directing and filming Phil Vassar’s “Love Is Alive” music video. We filmed in Chicago, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Nashville for this music video. It was a crazy schedule but we got it done as usual.

But yeah, had a blast running around on stage in Milwaukee and Chicago getting the shots we needed. Even got to do a little background work on this project. I’m in there at the record shop buying some records.

Bringing CoachLinked Venture to Life

I recently decided to join a small group of outstanding individuals from the business sector in bringing the sports app CoachLinked to life.

CoachLinked will be a sports networking platform that will strive to connect the athletic world together. The platform will be a one stop shop for coaches, athletic departments, teams, organizations, agents, media, fans and more to connect securely and safely to look for jobs in the athletic industry, connect and share ideas within their profession with their peers.

This is just beginning of what will probably be a long and fulfilling journey of creating a very robust platform from the ground up. Looking forward to the adventure ahead.

Eureka Place “Time Travel” Web Series

Eureka Place - Time Travel - Kevin Lapsley

Here’s the first installment of this Eureka Place web series that I was happy to be a part of by the production company, Strike Anywhere. This installment, of a couple webisodes being created for GE, was filmed in and around the Richmond, VA area.

Very cool to see the piece put together and to see how it turned out. At the time I knew we were working with some great equipment and had a cool team of people in place working together to get the shots we got.

“The North Star” Movie Trailer

The North Star - Movie Trailer - Kevin Lapsley

The North Star” movie trailer was released. Don’t let the trailer quality fool you. I was right there standing directly next to the cinematographer, Keiko Nakahara, for pretty much every shot and this could be a much better film than the trailer depicts.

“The North Star” post-production just still might be getting their feet under them, but I am sure the trailer will change as this movie will probably make a long festival and screening run on it’s way to distribution at some point.

This period piece about slavery has a good story and was able to put together a strong cast Jeremiah Trotter, John Diehl, Lynn Whitfield, Keith David, Douglas Gibson, Thomas C. Bartley Jr. and one of my local favorites Christopher Mann.

“Christmas Heart” Teaser Trailer

Christmas Heart - Kevin Lapsley

The “Christmas Heart” teaser trailer has been released. For a teaser a lot of work went into the project with a talented cast and crew. Wouldn’t mind it if this project got picked up and eventually went onto become a feature.

Based off of a true story producer/ director/ writer John Charles Hunt has a lot of passion for this project. Was happy to do my part on this one of course. Did a little bit of everything from helping produce, edit, camera and sound work.

Phil Vassar’s “Santa’s Gone Hollywood” Music Video

Phil Vassar - Santa's Gone Hollywood - Kevin Lapsley

Had a blast getting to travel to California to work on “Santa’s Gone Hollywood” with Phil Vassar again on another “the 10:10 Creative” music video for director Steve Condon and producer Steve Molineux. Think this is one of the funniest Christmas videos out there to go with a really good song.

But it was really cool getting to work in San Diego, Los Angeles and back in Philadelphia while getting to work with Phil, Debbie Dunning (Home Improvement), Pilar Lastra (Playboy Playmate) and local Philadelphia favorite of mine K.J. Linhein.

Director Steve and I got to film on the beach in San Diego, “driving” up and down Sunset Strip in Debbie’s classic convertible, in the famous Rainbow Room, and high a top Beverly Hills on a roof top pool and hot tub. With those type of locations, and with the cast we had, all we had to do was make sure we turned on the camera and we got some great shots. Of course, as usual, we did way more than that busting our butts but I think we knocked this video out of the park.

I even got to get in front of the camera myself, playing a Paparazzo, trying to get some shots of Santa and Phil palling around Hollywood.

Kevin Lapsley Launches Independent Movie Review Venture

Wanting to help independent movie productions create much needed press for their projects I decided to create and launch Independent Movie Review.

Independent Movie Review is a website that will offer free movie reviews of your project for those who submit their projects to be reviewed. The platform is expansive enough to offer reviews of pretty much any type of project from a short to feature, movie or web-series, to independent or studio productions.

The website also offers more in-depth and promotional advertising packages for the projects that have a little more of a budget and want to get some much needed exposure without having to pay outrageous prices.

Independent Movie Review has simple objectives. I want to supply the independent movies that are available, but aren’t distributed or selected for film festival, with a voice on the internet, and to assist those projects that are striving to set themselves apart from the rest with at least a fair playing field.

“Deer Crossing” Movie Trailer

Deer Crossing - Movie Trailer - Kevin Lapsley

Working on “Deer Crossing” for director Christian Grillo and producer John Michael Kent was a fun experience. Gotta give it to them for rallying the team and knocking this project out in a couple weekends.

For a shoe-string budget we had quite a large crew, a lot of locations and John Michael Kent was able to procure the services of horror film legend Doug Bradley, a.k.a Pinhead, and, of all people, famed actor Ernie Hudson on this project. A lot of hard work and long days running all over Bucks, Philadelphia and Delaware Counties in and around Philadelphia, PA, but we got the project done.

Also, had a blast getting to work with Christopher Mann and K.J. Linhein for a couple weeks. Am very glad to have worked with these guys in the past and hopefully again in the future. Both of these guys delivered and then some in their roles in this movie and in everything they do. Hopefully continued success for these guys in the future and more.
